5 Best Places to Get Free Digital Assets

In any designer’s arsenal, lies a stack of digital assets. These can range from social media icons to stock photos, to vector art. If you are a fellow designer, I’m pretty sure that you have your own stash of handy resources.  Here are my 5 best places to get free digital assets:

1. Creative Market

Creative Market is a platform for handcrafted, mousemade design content from independent creatives around the world. Picture Etsy but with digital products. Every Monday, they feature 6 free downloads. This can range from custom created fonts, to textures, to Photoshop Actions, to mockups. The list is endless.

2. Textures.com

I used Textures.com way back in the day when it used to be called CG Textures. They have a library of over 117,000 free image textures ranging from small to very high res textures (2500 x 2500) ranging from anything such as wood to concrete to canvas. Like, we are talking 127 different types of Road Asphalts.

3. Unsplash.com

I found this awesome gem called Unsplash a couple years ago. I love the simplicity of their website, especially their front page that says “Free (do whatever you want) high-resolution photos”. They were started by a company called “Crew.co“. If you read their History / About page, you will be wanting to leave your job and work for them, that is, if you are good enough to qualify.

4. Vecteezy.com

Vecteezy is free and also offers premium digital assets that you can pay for. They also have a little neat feature that allows you to edit before you download.

5. Freepik.com

Freepik. Their website does look a little spammy, but you can’t complain since they are all free vectors and you can search millions of assets.
